First Farmer's Market of Spring!

It is officially Spring, and what better way to welcome the season than a trip to Farmer's Market? My housemate and I went to Campbell Farmer's Market and I got some lovely things. We also saw lots of cute friendly dogs and there were some musicians playing musical instruments/singing-- some blues, and even some music from Zimbabwe.

I got... an onion to make quinoa patties later, some flowers, a butternut squash, pumpkin paratha (Indian bread with pumpkin filling) and fire-roasted eggplant spread from Sukhi's gourmet Indian foods, and some dino kale to make kale chips later.

Not sure what I'll do with the rest of my day, I'm on semi-spring break now (got the week off from just my internship, still have to work at my normal job) and I have about a week and a half until I need to have some work done for my other class. So I'll just enjoy the beautiful weather, maybe sit and read a book on the sofa by the sliding door where the sun is shining into the room.

  1. Hey, Jen!

Sounds like you guys enjoyed a terrific outing. Great pics, too! The sights, sounds and smell of Spring are beginning to reign-yay! Hope you found some enjoyable activities to immerse yourself in while you were on spring break.

Nothing new here on my end, just reading some today (without the benefit of a comfy "sofa by the sliding door where the Sun is shining into the room"). More like Am pet sitting for a friend, and am almost certain her dog has some mule in its bloodline. If I say "stay" it moves, if I say "come here", it sits. Go figure.

Thought of you the other day while reading> washington.org/topics/national-cherry-blossom-festival Am off to create a hotdog treat, not exactly an Epic Treat I'm akin to seeing here on your site, but it should hold me over unto an Olive Garden outing later.

Hope all is well. What's new and exciting in your world/life? Any new trips planned for this year? Something tells me a promotion of sorts may be in store for all of your hard work and gr8 attitude.

    1. Hi Al,
I'm very happy also that it is Spring. I went and spent some time with friends over spring break so that was nice.

Hope your pet sitting went alright, I know how dogs can be sometimes. I am actually going to my own Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco tomorrow so that should be great, I will take some pictures.

Nothing really new over here, just working to finish the semester... one month left. I hope to go to Canada over the summer, plus home in Santa Maria to visit my family for a week.. that's all I've got so far besides San Francisco/ other nearby cities but maybe I will go some other places too. :)

  2. Hey, Jen!

Sounds like you've been busy enjoying the good company of friends-always a good thing. You must be excited that semester's end is only a month away--woohoo!

Hmm...there's a Cherry Blossom Festival in the great city of San Francisco I see, well, how about that! With so much to offer, what a wonderful place...no wonder why flocks of visitors gladly echo legendary singer Tony Bennett's popular song "I Left My Heart In San Francisco".

Am glad you took your camera along. Am looking forward to some pictures in a future post. How was your experience today? Warm temps, bright sunny skies and brilliant blossoms abound I hope. Better get mule, er, Fido out once more to answer the call of nature before turning in. He's slowly coming around, but talk about stubborn. Nice sharing w/you this weekend. Enjoy your week ahead :)

    1. Yep, after working all week it's great to be able to relax with friends on the weekends. Excited for summer.. yet also nervous... so much to do before then! I guess I will manage it though.

San Francisco is great, my friend just told me apparently the Mission district has amazing burritos so I will look forward to trying those soon. Next weekend my housemate and I are going to our baseball game in San Francisco so that will be great. Today in San Francisco it was lovely sunny weather, I got a little bit of a sunburn but that's ok. New post soon :)

  3. Hey, Jen!

Mmm, mmm good @ "amazing burritos". Sounds like an Epic Treat, especially during the 7th inning next weekend when you and your housemate take in a baseball game in support of your hometown world champions. Hope Mother Nature cooperates and you guys have a memorable time. A chili-dog comes to mind just thinking of the sights and sounds of the SF faithful cheering on the Giants.

Noticed you have a new post up--woohoo! Am scrolling up...don't forget your sun-screen next weekend before you venture out to the ballpark.

    1. Hi Al,
Mission burritos would be amazing to enjoy during the ball game but AT&T Park is not really in the same area as the Mission district.. and I am not sure if my housemate is going to want to go over there after the game... but, I will definitely head over there the time after that. I am sure we will still find something tasty to eat, and hopefully it will be nice weather, not too windy or anything. Some fog I wouldn't even mind, it's just wind that is the worst. Thanks for the tip about sunscreen!
