Another donut!

I got another donut at Psycho Donuts!

"Kooky Monster

This Psycho favorite is topped with
crushed Oreo® cookies & will leave
you all googley eyed & wanting
MORE !!!"

The bright blue drizzle immediately caught my eye, and who doesn't love Oreos? This place seriously has the most creative donut toppings.

I'm going to San Francisco tomorrow to check out the Mission District. My buddy and I are going to check out a cool sandwich place I heard about from one of the other blogs I read. Stay tuned!

  1. Hey Jen!

Just when I thought it was safe to put my drool handkerchief away, you share this rich wonder. Am thinking a cold glass of milk to go with this epic treat.

Is there a chance that you will feature a future post on your recent adventure in San Francisco, and share some more about that cool sandwich place you heard about?

Hope your week is off to a great start. Just curious? If you had to take an educated guess, given their creativeness, Do you think this donut chain have the goodies/what it takes to open sites in San Diego, Los Angeles, Sacramento, etc.?

    1. Hi Al, I will post soon about my trip to San Francisco. It was nice. As for the donut shop, I believe they'd be successful in any big city that enjoys the eclectic and creative food stylings.

  2. Good morning, Jen!

Sounds like your recent trip to San Francisco was yet another delightful experience--woohoo! Looking forward to your post about this latest adventure when you have some time to draft one--cool!

Pretty solid recommendation coming from you @ your favorite donut shop, so it sounds like they may want to consider investing some time/research at expansion--certainly wish them well if they so choose.

Speaking of epic treats, the local coffee shops here are offering donuts this week shaped like Easter eggs, richly decorated in pastel colors amid thick fudge toppings, etc. Y-U-M-M-Y. Let me guess, akin to your trademark-signature during the holidays--you have already made something special for your house-mates and co-workers to feast upon, right? Any pics?

    1. Those donuts sound very good, Al. For my coworkers I think I will make some caramel chocolate matzo bark like the kind I posted about last year-- a unique and tasty treat. :)

    2. How thoughtful of you, Jen! No great surprise considering the source. Your co-workers are so fortunate to have you, and I'm sure your kindness helps build morale. Was just leaving a message for a bright and beautiful Canadian wishing her a happy holiday this weekend, so, with that in mind, should our electronic paths not cross again until next week, here's wishing you a safe, memorable and happy holiday weekend, too, Jen.

Better get going--have to fetch some wine and lamb before hitting the open road. Safe travels should you venture out and about, Shalom...back next week to see what's next on tap here at your Epic Treats.

  3. Is it just me, but blue icing spooks me. Of course with the dark hue within chocolate, with a cold glass of milk yummy!

  5. Basically, when you put it your mouth, I would rather go with what is safe to ingest. I will not go with red and blue.

    1. Yes, I have to admit that food coloring can't be the best for one's health. Maybe the donut shop is going a little overboard with their blue frosting.

    2. Jen,
It's all within the glitz or appeal (the presentation) the dyes however what they add can be harmful... it's a selling feature.Blue or red icing tastes the same when they're the original colour. Now wait, and ask Psycho Donuts they may be utilizing natural colourings, who knows...
